Security Officer — Learn Advanced Skills, Do Work That Matters
We are seeking dependable, observant people who want to grow, learn new skills, and do work that requires judgment, communication, and compassion.
This role is built for people who are curious, adaptable, and open to developing a modern, human-centered approach to security. Assignments may include healthcare environments, Events, Patrol, Emergency Coverage, Fire Watch, and On-site Security. Much of the work involves interacting with people during stressful or vulnerable moments, where professionalism, empathy, and calm decision-making are essential.
Applicants with or without prior security experience are encouraged to apply. Prior experience is welcome, but an open mind and a willingness to learn new perspectives within the security industry is essential.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a calm, professional, and compassionate presence
- Observe environments and identify safety or security concerns
- Use communication, awareness, and judgment as primary tools
- Engage respectfully with staff, Clients, and the public
- Adapt your approach based on site needs and situational context
- Document incidents and observations clearly and accurately
- Follow Company procedures while exercising sound discretion
Who We Are Looking For
- Dependable and punctual
- Strong verbal communication, with the ability to speak, read, and write proficiently in English
- Calm and composed under pressure
- Honest, respectful, and professional
- Flexible with assignments and scheduling
- Security-oriented without being authority-driven
- Open-minded and receptive to learning advanced communication, behavioral, and decision-making skills
This role is not a fit for individuals who rely primarily on authority or enforcement. It is a fit for those who value professionalism, compassion, and thoughtful engagement.
Basic Requirements
- A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record — required for every position, not just Patrol Officers
- Access to a reliable vehicle that is legally registered and legally insured, available for the entire duration of your shifts
- Washington State licensing eligibility: a history of felony convictions, domestic violence, sexual assault, or crimes against children or vulnerable adults is a disqualifier
- A Washington State Security Guard License is not required to apply — you only need to be able to obtain one, and we pay for and help you through the process
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
We do not have armed positions. Every Diligence Security Officer works unarmed, using presence, communication, and documentation as the primary tools of the job.
Training and Development
- Five days of paid onboarding training covering the legal and professional foundations of security work alongside disciplined, military-inspired tactical frameworks, situational analysis, terrain awareness, and structured decision-making adapted for real-world environments
- Five additional days of advanced training after probation, exploring applied psychology, human behavior, and high-level communication strategies used to influence outcomes, manage stress, and make sound decisions in complex, people-driven situations
- Ongoing development opportunities for Officers who actively seek growth and responsibility
All of this runs through our Officer Integration Program — roughly 13 times the state's 8-hour licensing minimum by the time an Officer reaches Supervisor.
Compensation and Benefits — Upon Hire
- $21.50 per hour starting pay during probation
- Overtime opportunities
- 401(k) eligibility starting at hire
- Sick pay (.015 hours per hour worked)
- Licensing and required certifications paid for
